Red Ribbon Week

October 24 - 28, 2016 - Red Ribbon Week Theme: United, We Take A Stand!

The week of October 24-28 is Red Ribbon Week!  This is a week dedicated to celebrating a healthy lifestyle free from substances that can be harmful.  There will
be a theme each day and activities throughout the week on making healthy choices.
A red bracelet will be given out to wear all week. 

Students and staff are encouraged to participate in the theme each day:  
 (Remind students not to wear clothing that obstructs learning – including P.E.)

Monday – “Band Together to Stay Healthy” – Wear your red ribbon wristband. 

Tuesday – “Put Your Best Foot Forward” – Put on mixed up shoes or socks.

Wednesday – “Old Town Texans Show Pride” in Making Positive Choices – Wear
                       Red, White, and Blue.

Thursday – “Hats On to being Healthy” – Find your wild & wacky hat to wear all day.

Friday – “Be on the Winning Team with Healthy Choices” – Wear your favorite
                sports team shirt.

 Write an Essay on “Taking a stand takes courage
  • 3rd– 5th: write a short essay about a time when they decided to take a stand. 

There will be a red box in the library where students can turn in their essay.  Students who turn in their essay by Friday Oct. 28th will receive a small “thank you” prize.
